一般來說，推薦信字?jǐn)?shù)a4紙用5號字寫占3/4張紙即可，沒有具體要求，結(jié)構(gòu)多以總分總。

a、開頭部分：長度控制在一段，主要用于陳述推薦信的目的，以什么樣的方式同申請人認(rèn)識，同申請人認(rèn)識了多久，申請人的基本素質(zhì)和特質(zhì)是怎樣的，表達(dá)出推薦人與申請者之間很熟悉；

b、中間內(nèi)容部分：長度一般為2~6段，每段4~6句話，這部分需要描述出申請人是個(gè)什么樣的人，結(jié)合一些具體的事例來支撐opening中申請人的優(yōu)點(diǎn)和特質(zhì)，解釋申請者想要謀求更遠(yuǎn)發(fā)展的原因；

譬如，如果推薦者是教授，解釋學(xué)生在他門下所修的課程。接下來，教授寫一些有關(guān)申請人在課堂上的表現(xiàn)，如完成的研究計(jì)劃、實(shí)驗(yàn)室研究、研究報(bào)告、考試的成績、課堂態(tài)度、討論課的參與等，舉出實(shí)例。

如果推薦人是工作主管，首先一定要仔細(xì)陳述申請人的工作職責(zé)，并對申請者工作表現(xiàn)作一評估。如果可能的話盡量列舉實(shí)例。

c、結(jié)尾部分：長度通常在1~2段，需要表達(dá)出推薦人對申請者的支持和信心，解釋為何認(rèn)為申請者非常適合這個(gè)學(xué)校和專業(yè)。

用盡所有表現(xiàn)努力、才華和優(yōu)秀的形容詞，卻沒有一個(gè)具體例證。我們都知道“事實(shí)勝于雄辯”，但我們給外國人看的推薦信上卻偏偏是反其道而行之。

總把申請者吹成一個(gè)大師，讓人難以置信。許多推薦人“特別地欽佩”他們的學(xué)生，“一輩子也沒有碰上這樣的天才”。

內(nèi)容千篇一律，讓人一看就是抄的。幾乎每一篇推薦信都有這樣的描述：課堂上所有別的學(xué)生都無法回答某個(gè)問題，只有這位天才站起來侃侃而談，“顯示了深厚的功底和創(chuàng)造力?！笨墒菦]有一位申請者說得出來當(dāng)時(shí)到底談?wù)摰氖鞘裁丛掝}。

沒有正確地選擇推薦者。作為推薦者一般應(yīng)該具備如下幾個(gè)條件。一是必須要有比被推薦者更高職位或更多的學(xué)識，這樣才有能力和資格來評判被推薦者。另外一個(gè)必不可少的條件是，推薦者必須有機(jī)會了解被推薦者。所以合適的推薦人應(yīng)該是教過你或指導(dǎo)過你的教授，或者是工作單位中的頂頭上司。

寫作時(shí)馬虎和草率。許多申請者一口氣給自己寫三封推薦信（一般要求是三封），然后讓三個(gè)教授簽字。這樣，不僅內(nèi)容相同、語氣類似，用詞也差不多，甚至語法和拼寫錯(cuò)誤也一模一樣，更有甚者，打印的字體也是分毫不差。這是極為不可取的。

tip1、紙推還是網(wǎng)推不是由申請者自行選擇一種方式來完成，而是看學(xué)校的要求。現(xiàn)在絕大多數(shù)學(xué)校都采用網(wǎng)上提交推薦信的這種方便快捷的提交方式，有利于加快材料的審核。極個(gè)別排名相對靠后的學(xué)校要求申請者將紙質(zhì)的推薦信郵寄到學(xué)校制定的接收地址。當(dāng)然還有一種情況，就是當(dāng)你網(wǎng)推這種方式因?yàn)槟承┪粗蚨鵁o法完成時(shí)，學(xué)校給出的解決辦法一般有兩種，一種是將推薦信發(fā)到指定郵箱；另一種就是把紙質(zhì)推薦信郵寄到給定的地址。

tip2、在網(wǎng)上提交某一個(gè)推薦人的推薦信之前，準(zhǔn)備三件事：一把推薦人的相關(guān)信息的英文，包括其姓名、頭銜、職務(wù)、工作單位及地址（包括郵編），與申請者關(guān)系，認(rèn)識時(shí)間等準(zhǔn)備在word文檔里；二是分別準(zhǔn)備一份pdf版和word版的該推薦人的推薦信（打印在帶有推薦人工作單位抬頭的空白信紙，并有推薦人手簽的是比較正式并容易被認(rèn)可的），并把pdf版的推薦信放在電腦桌面（不同的三封推薦信命名上要有所區(qū)分）；三是找一臺沒有設(shè)置用戶名的電腦使用，三個(gè)不同的推薦人使用不同的ip地址來登陸提交，盡量避免在提交申請的電腦上提交推薦信。

tip3、網(wǎng)推中對于申請者各方面能力或素質(zhì)的評估要根據(jù)推薦信中對申請者相關(guān)能力的推薦，兩相結(jié)合來填寫這個(gè)版塊；推薦信中沒有提及的其他能力的評價(jià)可以填的略低些或者無法評價(jià)；不要都是過分高的評分。

one of our nation’s oldest and most cherished traditions, thanksgiving day brings us closer to our loved ones and invites us to reflect on the blessings that enrich our lives. the observance recalls the celebration of an autumn harvest centuries ago, when the wampanoag tribe joined the pilgrims at plymouth colony to share in the fruits of a bountiful season. the feast honored the wampanoag for generously extending their knowledge of local game and agriculture to the pilgrims, and today we renew our gratitude to all american indians and alaska natives. we take this time to remember the ways that the first americans have enriched our nation’s heritage, from their generosity centuries ago to the everyday contributions they make to all facets of american life. as we come together with friends, family, and neighbors to celebrate, let us set aside our daily concerns and give thanks for the providence bestowed upon us.
